Daphne Vincent thinks she’s about to start her happily-ever-after with her fiancé Peter in the charming lake town of Waning Bay, Michigan. She’s just moved there, given up her life in Kansas City, and is ready to build a future. But within weeks, everything falls apart—Peter tells her he’s in love with his childhood best friend, Petra (who also happened to be Daphne’s friend).

Now dumped, heartbroken, and alone in a town where she knows no one, Daphne is left without a place to live—until she ends up moving in with Miles Nowak, Petra’s ex-boyfriend.
