Invisible by Danielle Steel is a pleasant story about a young woman who wants to be, and stay invisible. The Timespan covers post-war Paris, and modern New York City.

Invisible covers the story of Antonia and follows her from her neglected childhood to her career in film. She’s the daughter of an aspiring actress and a businessman and grew up in a home where she was neglected. Her mother didn’t want a baby and eventually left the family to pursue an acting career. Her father blames her for his wife’s leaving and buries himself in his work, neglecting poor Antonia. She decides it’s best to stay invisible as that keeps her out of trouble. As she gets older she finds refuge in the movies and goes to the movies as often as possible. She decides she wants to be a screenwriter and applies to NYU film school.

The thoughts shared here are solely mine.

This book became one of my favorites because I read it all in one sitting.

And a girl who has felt invisible her whole life, growing up in loneliness. Her own mother didn’t love her, and her father blamed her, as her mother left to pursue a modeling career.

This book takes you on an emotional Rollercoaster—you feel sad, happy, and even angry at times. However, it’s not a heart-melting story. Antonia’s character is what I truly love—her bravery and confidence in shaping her own future stand out.

Summary

This book started off quickly and I was drawn into this world immediately . There are only a few characters in this book, but they are all well developed and interesting. The story never dragged, and I enjoyed the author’s descriptions of Paris and Angola.

My Review

Beautiful is an emotional and inspiring story about Veronique Vincent, a famous supermodel whose life changes after a tragic terrorist attack. She loses her mother and suffers severe facial injuries, forcing her to rethink her identity and what truly matters in life.

This book explores themes of grief, self-discovery, and inner beauty. Veronique’s journey from heartbreak to finding a new purpose is touching, though at times, her emotions could have been explored more deeply. The writing is simple and easy to follow, making it a fast and engaging read.

While the story is somewhat predictable, its message is powerful: true beauty comes from within. It’s a great book for those who enjoy emotional, character-driven stories.
